Hi guys :) It's time for me to announce the winner of my GIVEAWAY! First, here's how I determined the outcome: each person who entered was assigned a number; if you blogged about the GIVEAWAY, you received two numbers. I then used a random number generator to choose a number, and voila! The winner is...Amberski! Congratulations :) I'll be e-mailing you shortly. If Amberski doesn't respond to me within 48 hours, then I will pick a new winner. Thanks for entering to everyone who did, and I just wanted to let you know that Betsy is planning on having a giveaway soon, too...and her prize will be epic. I promise.
Yesterday I cut off my nails. They were getting way too long for me, so I chopped them down. I desperately need a manicure because my cuticles are just...ew. So I'm sorry. My hands also get really, really dry in the winter and I'm pretty sure you can tell in the images. That having been said, yesterday I used my last Rescue Beauty Lounge polish.
Stop, hey, what's that sound? It's No More War. I'm not sure what I can say about this polish that everyone else hasn't already said like two hundred and seventeen times. It's an army/olive-ish green creme. This was two coats. I think out of all my RBL polishes, this one applied the best. Really flawlessly. That's my right hand in the last picture and I did no clean-up. I'm also right-handed. That's how you know this is a good formula. I've heard that this color is a love-it-or-hate-it type of thing. I neither love it nor hate it. I do like it, but it's not something I'd reach for daily or anything. I think it looks nice on me...kind of elegant, even. I had wanted this color for a really long time but I refused to pay $18 plus shipping ($8.00 or $8.50). I had gotten MAC Dry Martini instead hoping it would be close to No More War, but it's way, way browner. I did a little swatch of the MAC for you guys. You can also see my post on it here.
Dry Martini is definitely way less green. Next to No More War it looks brown. This was three coats on the swatch.
So that's the last polish from my December Rescue Beauty haul. To refresh your memory, plus No More War I got:
Did I like each one of them? Yes, very much. Were the formulas excellent? Yes, and that's an understatement. Would I pay $18 plus $8.00 shipping for one polish? No. Never. I'm glad that I got these through the half-off sale, and if there's another one in the future I'll take advantage of it. Maybe if I really, really loved the color I'd drop $26 on one polish, but otherwise, no thank you. Ji, you make a killer polish. I just wish they could be affordable for all of us.
My favorite of these was Starfish Patrick, and I've already made a considerable dent in my bottle for only having it for like a month. I know I'll need a back-up of that one, so I'm going to have to start building my cart for the next sale...hmm...
