OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui (!)

To start off, let me remind you all to enter my giveaway, which ends on Friday, by clicking on the image at the top of the right-hand sidebar. K? Yay. Today's polish is one I couldn't decide whether or not to get for a long time. I kept going back and forth about it. Every time I saw a swatch, OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui just looked like another medium blue creme. I have been having good luck with liking blues on me lately, though, so I decided to take the plunge and buy it.

Here's the thing: in my images this just looks like any other medium blue creme. It's not, though. There's something special about it. I feel like I've been saying this a lot lately, but it has a dusty quality to it that just doesn't translate well in photos. I think it's the prettiest blue that's not a cornflower that I've ever used. The application on this was decent. I used two coats here, but I should have used three; while I was taking pictures in the sunlight I noticed some bald patches. I'm really, really glad that I ended up buying this one, though. It took me forever to finally take the plunge, which is weird because I definitely buy things impulsively. I wore Suzi Says Feng Shui for a day by itself and then I added some Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure.

Pretty awesome, isn't it? This might be my favorite Hidden Treasure layering combination so far. The blue seems to have really brought out the peach tones in the flakies. I used one coat of Hidden Treasure here. I still want a back-up bottle. I still haven't been able to find a back-up bottle. That's annoying. I guess I was just lucky finding my first bottle, huh? I hate this "limited edition" bullshit :(

So as you all know I am from Cleveland. I'm not a huge huge sports fan in general, but I am in love with the Indians (and baseball generally) and always have been. I can handle football most of the time; my boyfriend loves it so I do my best to tolerate it. However...I really don't like basketball. But it seems like the Cavs are our only chance for a championship (which we have been saying for years now). Unfortunately they keep losing against the Celtics, but this did not stop my mother from bringing home Key Bank sponsored Cavs apparel and making us all wear it during the [sad] game.

Oy. Even though I am not a basketball fan by any stretch of the imagination, as a native Clevelander I've got to say...please Cavs. For the love of God please win something. We need this. I am putting aside my Cleveland sports cynicism and saying...I believe in you!

Anyway, that's all for today. Does anyone else feel the same love for Suzi Says Feng Shui? I feel like it's really unique in my collection, but that might be because I don't have a lot of blues and tend to avoid them anyway. I hope you all have a great Wednesday! It's rainy and gross here buuuuuut I'm gonna do my best to have a good day anyway :)

  4. Ah ah, you're cute even with those unsexy sponge things. :D Hey, I just noticed your hair length is exactly the same as mine. Well, except that I'm a brunette. I have had them neck/shoulder long during years but decided to get them longer 2 years ago. There is something sexy about hair. I don't know.

That Sally Hansen top coat really makes magic things. I'm not a blue girl (I don't even own a medium blue creme) so it's nothing surprising I prefer the blue with the flakies. Ok, I cross my finger for you to find a back up of Hidden Treasure. Very very hard. <3

  8. This combo is amazing! I found Hidden Treasure by chance and bought the second available bottle for a friend (she's a fellow polish lover) and I'd love to find a backup but I don't think I'll be as lucky. And I'm from MA so I love all things Boston! I just watched your Cavs get eliminated so I'm sorry for that ;)
