Here's OPI I Brake For Manicures. A tricky little bastard of a polish to photograph. It's a dark, vampy, dusty grape. My camera wanted to make it look almost-black every time I tried to take a picture of it, but trust me...it has a special quality to it that makes it look smoky and a little mysterious. In truth, I haven't been this in love with a vampy since last winter's China Glaze Naughty But Nice, which I didn't really document. My mom was in the hospital when that collection was a thing, so I didn't have time to photograph them as I wore them. Anyhow, this polish is special among vampies. Really. And the formula was really superb. Two coats here.
I can't complain about any of the polishes I picked up from Touring America. I love them all (see I Eat Mainely Lobster here, Are We There Yet? here, Suzi Takes the Wheel here, A-Taupe the Space Needle here and Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window here). Although most of these colors are pretty standard hues, each one of them seems to have that special somethin'-somethin' that makes them indispensable for a polish lover.
Also, the winner of my giveaway was a reader named Charlotte. I've already e-mailed her and she e-mailed me back to confirm her win, so that's that. Her heart's desire is California Trooper, MacArthur Park and Poppy, all colors I love. So congratulations, Charlotte! And to everyone else, thanks for entering. I'll probably do another AA giveaway to celebrate the end of the semester (which seems so far away right now, but it's really not; I'm yearning for December).
That's it for today. Opinions on I Brake For Manicures?
Such a pretty color! I have Naughty but nice from Orly-is there one from China Glaze?? I'm sorry you aren't feeling well-I'm gonna believe that's the reason I didn't win your giveaway-HHAHAHAHA! Congrats to the winner however! I love AA polish.
ReplyDeleteI love this color, even though I have many dark ones, this one I will pick up.
ReplyDeleteEveryone around me is sick too (me included) I would tell you to drink teraflu but it taste like hell! feel better soon.
I honestly thought that was just another black, until I read that it wasn't supposed to be black. I think if I liked wearing darker colors that I might give this one a shot.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore this color ! I'm gonna pick this one up when I'll be in the US. I'm counting the days...
ReplyDeleteThis color looks great on you! I've been waffling over it for a while but I'm still a huge fan of this collection for the same reasons you are.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon, and congrats to Charlotte for the win! :)
This looks great on you! Feel better soon! The grey rainy weather is putting me in the mood for these dark and moody colours. Wah wah way - yes, I'm crying cuz summer is over.
ReplyDeleteDef looks great on you! I keep trying to fall in love with anything from this collection, but it just isn't happening. This one looks a little Zoya Kelly-ish in the last pic.
ReplyDeleteSorry you're feeling lousy, but this color looks great on you!
ReplyDeletethe nicest of the entire collection!
ReplyDeletePam R., trust me, this is nothing like Kelly. Personally, I thought Kelly would be special, a little more purple than gray. But for me it's just a boring gray. I'm pretty anti-Kelly, actually. I gave it away.
ReplyDeleteAww, get well soon! Someone should invent some sort of chicken soup with caffeine for grad students. ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome vampy colour! I will defs be looking for this next time! Hope you get better soon! :)
