Revlon Revlon Red

A perfect red for a perfect Friday.

This is Revlon Revlon Red (I know I typed "Revlon" twice, but the brand is Revlon and the color is Revlon Red so...kind of repetitive;  And redundant).  But yeah, this is a really nice classic red polish.  Unfortunately it only lasted a day on me before I peeled it off in giant sheets.

Up for next week:  new Sinful Colors polishes.  Get.  Excited.

  1. There is something nice about a lovely red for a Friday... it's kind of a "Hello there, weekend, nice to see you!" thing. Anyways, it looks great- I love red on shorter nails, and it looks perfect on you.

  2. Ditto for me on this Revlon shade. It's been around since the mid 60's at least. I seem to recall it was more of a blue red at one time, but I could be wrong. It looks like Eliz. Arden Red Door Red to me. For Revlon, you need to try the NEW release of Revlon Colorstay polishes. They really do last. They say up to 11 days with the use of their Colorstay base and top coat. I used OPI Nail Envy base and SV top coat and mine only had minor tip wear at day 9 with a teal shade I tried first. The reason I took it off was due to my growth line - not the fact it was chipped. But I had 2 nails that were iffy by then as far as I could have popped them off like a fake nail - the base lifted along with the color. I have a few more shades to try - want to get a majority of them all eventually. The one that comes closet to Revlon Red is probably Delicious. I don't have the 'other' red to compare. Am thinking it's more a blue red, but nice. Then they have a vampy red that seems to be popular from it being gone from a lot of the displays - called Velvet Rope. So far, very impressed. I found their base coat finally and have that on now with SV top as cannot find the Colorstay top coat - and not sure it really matters when you have the likes of SV. I also am going to try it with my SV UV topper using my lamp to cure. This works with regular polishes really well I have found vs UV base (cure with lamp)- UV color (cure with lamp) etc. Nice as I have tons of pretty shades I would hate to give up using because I get addicted to the long lasting UV ones...but do recommend folks try the new Colorstay. Have not looked to see if any bloggers have done reviews on it yet. Like the above commenter - I too love red on shorter nails - but then I just like shorter nails a whole lot now -it's far more chic and in style than daggers.

    1. Maybe someday I'll try to the Colorstay. But I find that nothing (no polish, no matter the brand) will stay put on me. The most success I've had with getting something to not chip is to put Gelous between the polish and top coat. I got it to stay for about seven days.

  5. There's nothing like a classic red! It's a shame it peeled off though. :(

    1. I was slightly guilty of picking at it A LITTLE, but only after it super chipped.
