BLACK LABEL: OPI You Cannoli Imagine

It's been a long while since I've thrown up a black label post.  Almost exactly a year ago (weird) I posted about how I wanted a polish called You Cannoli Imagine because of its name and my love for ricotta cheese.  Because, delicious.  A while ago my dear friend Ange sent me a care package, and among a plethora of corals, she also found You Cannoli Imagine for me.  I finally got around to trying it out.

First, my cuticles are a mess and I don't even know why.  Summer is typically the season of okay-looking cuticles.  Anyway, I really like the color of this polish.  It's sort of a pinky-toned beige with multicolored shimmer.  Most of the time the shimmer just looks sort of silver, but in the sun some other colors peek out, like pink and green.  The formula left something to be desired.  It took four coats to be this opaque, and I was actually really worried that it wouldn't dry.  I slopped some Seche on, which then resulted in shrinkage, but it did dry before I went to sleep so I didn't get sheet marks.  I really love nudes and how long and lithe they make my fingers look, so I'm a pretty big fan of this one.  I just wish the formula was better.  BUT that's to be expected with these old OPIs.  And it's totally worth it just for the name.  I loves it.  Thanks, Ange!

It's almost Friday!

Okay, that's all.  Anyone have a favorite old OPI polish?  I don't think I do, but I am partial to this little gem.

  4. Bwahahaha, you finally got your hands on it! I saw this on a blog sale last week and thought of you, actually. It looks good. :)

As for black label OPI ... hmm. I really love Bare It In Trafalgar Square. And I remember liking Double Decker Red from that same collection. I have Peel Me a Gobi Grape too, but I haven't tried it yet. *hangs head*

    1. I've had it for a while and I think I put it away while I was cleaning up the joint. Forgot about it, I guess. But I really ended up liking it! Also, I love Trafalgar Square too. That polish is the reason that I ended up getting so many black labels in the first place...a put out a plea for it on my blog, and someone ended up sending me a whole box of old OPIs. It was...the best.

  6. Cajun Shrimp was my very first OPI obsession, before I was a blog-reading, polish collecting fanatic. I went through two bottles of it in college.

    1. You know, even though I love coral colors like that I've actually never owned that polish.

  7. My all-time favorite OPI is Boris & Natasha. I don't think it's old enough to be black label, though. I have 2 partial bottles and one unopened one in my stash, but I never us it anymore - I'm afraid of using it up!

    1. Yes, Black Tie Optional is pretty awesome. Although less awesome on the nail than it looks in the bottle.

Cajun Shrimp is a classic! Love those types of colors.

  13. My two favorite of old and all OPI polishes are called Tutti Frutti Tonga and Senorita Rose-Alita.

These are two classy colors that have never gotten old to me. I like how Senorita Rose-Alita starts to fade, ever so gradually, to a more golden tint. I find that super fun!
